Family Spring celebration, Sat 30th April
WHAT: Horsenden Hill Sense of Spring Celebration
WHEN: Saturday 30th April, 11am - 3pm
WHERE: Horsenden Hill Visitor Centre, Horsenden Lane North, Greenford, UB6
Bird songs in the air, bees busily gathering nectar, brass band playing on the lawn, the laughter and chatter of happy families. Sounds idyllic?
Well, come along to Horsenden Hill Visitor Centre and enjoy the atmosphere of this community event. There will be crafts, walks, music and honey and children can enjoy the water themed playground.
Senior Ranger Rowan Schnauer said: "The Horsenden Ranger Team is looking forward to hosting this fun event for the whole community. Spring is a beautiful time to be outdoors and to rediscover what Horsenden Hill has to offer."
There will be a range of stalls on the day, including Friends of Horsenden Hill; Great Western Rail Preservation Group; and one providing local history information. Activities will include 'Have a Go Canoeing' with Ealing Canoe Club, Willowtree Narrowboats, childrens' games and a model train.
Fulham Brass Band will provide entertainment and sweet and savoury crepes will be available for those with an appetite. Leaflets detailing the various guided walks that will take place at Horsenden throughout the year will be distributed.
Rangers will also launch the public consultation of the Horsenden Hill Management Plan, which is a 10 year plan for conservation work and grounds maintenance, site development and future proposals.
