West London Opera seeking new singers

Why not give it a go?

Budding Jose Domingos and Diana Damraus are invited to join West London Opera as they rehearse in Brentford ahead of their performances at the Questors Theatre, Ealing, in 2005.

No previous experience is required to join the chorus, just enjoyment of singing. Auditions are only held for the soloists who join for specific performances.

Rehearsals are held at St Paul's School on St Paul's Rd from 7.45 to 9.45 on Wednesday evenings from 29th September - map here . For those people who like to sing, but are perhaps not too keen on the acting side of Opera, next year, West London Opera will not be putting on a fully-staged production, but a Gala Concert in January, consisting of excerpts from popular operas, and a semi-staged performance on 2 operas at the end of May, both at The Questors Theatre.

There are also lots of social/fundraising events throughout the year which
are always fun.

Performances planned:

  • January 2005: A Gala Evening with excerpts from popular operas (La Traviata, The Gondoliers, The Marriage of Figaro and Faust.)
  • May/June 2005: A semi-staged performance of The Magic Flute and Rigoletto.

For more information call Sheila Underwood (020 8568 7642) or Ann Evans (020 8568 8728) or look at the West London Opera website .
