Information and advice available on Wednesday May 25th
Ealing Council's noise nuisance officers and Ealing Mediation Service will be outside the Town Hall between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday 25th of May, as part of Noise Action Week, which runs from 23rd - 27th May. They'll be available to give advice and information for people about the problems of noise nuisance, such as:
Cllr John Delaney, cabinet member for streets and environment, said: "This event is about informing people of their rights and what help they can get if they are experiencing noise nuisance. We also want to get people thinking about how loud many common noises are. Did you know that at 85 decibels a noise can damage hearing, but someone shouting registers at 90."
The council's noise nuisance team extended its hours of operation in April. They are now able to deal with complaints Monday to Friday 8.30am to midnight on 0208 8825 8111 and Friday and Saturday 11pm to 4am on 0208 825 5000. The council has also recently recruited four new noise nuisance officers to the team, so that more noise nuisance cases can be dealt with.
