Crime in Ealing - past and present, real and imagined

Investigate the theme of crime during May

Following the runaway success of Ealing Council Library and Information Service's local history talks in January, a series of events in May based around the theme 'Crime: Fact and Fiction' have been arranged. If the last lot were anything to go by, you would be advised to book!

Whether you're interested in the history of crime in the borough from Tudor times to the 20th century, learning how to write crime novels or getting advice from the Police on crime deterrence, this series has something for you.

Jane Battye, Head of Library and Information Service, said: "Ealing's libraries offer an extensive collection of crime fiction, with hundreds of authors and tales of espionage, mystery and suspense to choose from.

"Our crime series provides an opportunity to promote this exciting genre but is also designed to be informative, with advice and guidance from police about how to make our borough safer."

In addition, a special discount offer will run throughout May and June - people will be able to borrow 2 DVDs for the price of 1 from each library's collection of major crime films.   Titles on offer include The Shawshank Redemption, The Firm and Fargo.

Date and times for the 'Crime: Fact and Fiction' events are as follows:
