3 WOMEN
Private View: Saturday, January 29, 6-9 pm.
Exhibition continues until February 19

AINE SCANNELL, Printmaking. My 'Left Handed' Eye
On this occasion I will show mostly earlier works. These are what could be
called 'autographic' in two senses: On the one hand through being wrought out of research into hieroglyphic and symbolic visual language. On the other, in the sense of being like handwriting but in a kind of 'pictorial shorthand' - inventions from my imagination.

AMARJEET NANDHRA, Stitched Textiles
As an artist I am interested in exploring issues surrounding identity
through family, culture and society. My creative journey of twists and
turns explores relationships, emotions and events. I am fascinated by the different layers, we create to protect, hide, cover and even deceive. I use layers of marks, pattern, text and colour in mywork to echo these themes. I strive to create work that is visually appealing,
yet has a sense of purpose, a message!

HOURIA NIATI, Photography & Digital Art
Trained in Community Arts in Algeria, I settled in London in 1977. I have exhibited widely in Britain, Europe, Middle East, USA and North Africa since 1983. My work ranges from painting and collage to installation objects, digital arts, poetry and live performances of classical Arab-Andalusian song. Autoportrait Interrogatif, a Digital Art work, which was previously shown at Mamia Bretesche Galerie in Paris, will be on show in the forthcoming exhibition at the ARK.

ANDREA TIERNEY, 3 Video-Portraits
Helped by a grant from the London Borough of Ealing, I set up the project of filming and interviewing the three artists in the surroundings of their studios. Making these films, I won important insights into the creative lives of these extraordinary women. The resulting three films will hopefully enable the viewer to form a deeper understanding of and interest in the work
of the three artists.
