Fire Brigade offer free electric blanket testing
Most
of us tuck our electric blanket away in a cupboard during the summer and
dont think about it until the frosty nights return. But can you be sure
it is still safe to use?
Ealing Environmental Health & Trading Standards and the London Fire Brigade will be offering a free electric blanket testing on Wednesday 11 January 2006 at Ealing Fire Station. If your blanket is more than three years old, or if you have any doubts about its safety, why not get it checked out?
To make a reservation to have your electric blanket tested
telephone: 020 8825 5313, or email: becketta@ealing.gov.uk
Free vouchers will be available to cover part of the cost of a replacement electric blanket should your electric blanket fail the test and free energy saving lightbulbs will be available on the day. Ealings fire fighters will be handing out fire safety leaflets and giving advice on fire safety around the home and also informing you how you could get a free smoke alarm and/or home fire safety check.
(If you are unable to join them on the day and would like the opportunity
of a free home fire safety check or smoke
alarm information, please call 0800 284428).
