with Ealing schools still waiting for key results
Parents and children across Ealing are still waiting to key SAT test results according to Deputy Leader of the Council Cllr Ian Gibb.
A number of Ealing schools have been hit by the fiasco over the marking of SAT tests this year. At Key Stage 2 (children aged 11), four schools have not received their English results, three schools are waiting for maths and a further five have not received their science results. At key stage 3, more than half the schools have not yet received their results for English.
Cllr Ian Gibb, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Children’s Services in Ealing, said: "It's a fiasco. A lot of work goes into these exams and it is unacceptable that such a debacle has been allowed to happen. The Government was warned months ago that this could happen and they have been completely complacent over the whole saga. The Government really must make sure that the current mess is sorted out quickly and that the same thing does not happen again next year. The Government must also seriously question whether ETS, the current company responsible for the marking, should be allowed to keep the contract.”
