Charity Pub Quiz at the Haven

Raising funds for conservation trek, Thurs 4th May

Team members from The Carphone Warehouse in North Acton are raising money for charity at the Haven pub in Ealing this Thursday evening. Each year, employees raise funds in order to finance a sponsored conservation trek to an exotic destination and this year is no exception.

Liz McGlenn, Cat Stephens and Dave Nuttall will be part of a 70 strong Carphone Warehouse team traveling to Borneo to help save the orang-utan from extinction in the wild.

In order to qualify for the trip, each trecker has been asked to raise £2,250 in order to fund the travel costs, on-site building costs and provide funds for the charity itself. Liz, Cat and Dave together with The Carphone Warehouse will be offering the chance to win mobile phones, Waterstones vouchers, a free round of drinks and a free meal at Nandos for an entry fee of just £2.

Over a 9 day trip, Liz, Cat and Dave will get to see the orang-utans at a rehabilitation centre, hopefully see them in the wild, complete a structural project to assist with their long term survival and all in all have an amazing once in a lifetime experience.

Liz McGlenn said, I am so excited and can't wait to go. It's been a real struggle to raise the funds but I know it's going to be worth it in the end. Come on down and join us and help us raise funds for a very worthy cause.
