What were the outcomes of yesterday's Ealing Council meeting?

Where can I find the outcomes of yesterday's Ealing Council meeting? There have been some interesting Tweets from various councillors but I cannot find the results. After ten to fifteen minutes of trawling through the Ealing Council website I found two different agendas for yesterday's meeting and some minutes for the previous meeting. Where on the website can I find the results of yesterday's meeting?Keith S.

Heathrow Airport to close

This evening we got a leaflet through the door to say if Heathrow does not build a third runway, then it would have to close and relocate out of London causing lots of job losses.I didn't read any more of the article because I just thought it is utter madness. Why are they trying to close every thing in this country. Hospitals, cinemas, airports, care homes etc.Who makes all these decisions and i think it is about time, people power took over and take over running the country. Get rid of all these councillors.

Scotland leave UK?

Should Scotland leave the UK and become independent?  Or should Scotland remain wholly part of Britain, along with Wales, Northern Ireland and England?  Does it really matter?  Or should we insist that Scotland stays an important and vital part of the Union? Could Scotland exist as an independent nation on its own in Europe? Why do some Scots feel they should be separated from Britain?  Why are the Scots so querrelous?

Smiffy's Photography

Hi. Would anybody be able to help me in locating Smiffy's of Smiffy's photography originally based out of 39 Bond Street which  now houses a charity shop.  I understand that he vacated the premises approx. 12 years ago.  I've googled to no avail which is why I'm posting here on the off-chance someone might have kept in touch with him.  Thanks a millEmma

Performance related salary rises.

Are performance related pay rises a good thing? Or should one expect an automatic annual rise in pay, irrespective of how we perform our duties?  Imo, one shouldn't strike against prp.

Has Julian Bell just pressed self-destruct on the Labour council vote in Acton?

http://www.actonw3.com/default.asp?section=info&link=http://nnet-server.com/server/common/actoaksapprved001.htmIt looks like it. Its fair to say that Labour councillors last night turned their backs on local people and have left locals of all political persuasions enraged.

Cake please

I have to buy a birthday cake for a 50 th for about 40 people. Where is a good place to go? We like good rich chocolate cake but definitely not with icing. Something classy. Is Patisserie Valerie the only choice?

Rubbish animals?

With the news that the female Panda in a Zoo isn't pregnant after all, I overheard a conversation on the tube tonight and Pandas don't seem to do much to help themselves survive.  They only mate once a year and usually have only one cub, if by chance they have two, they ignore one so it dies.  The meal of choice is Bamboo and they have to eat loads of it as it isn't very nutritious.  Seems they will eat other things including meat but are too lazy to get it.Are there any other animals more rubbish than Pandas?

Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward - 0% Sales Commission?

Has anyone had any experience with Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward as I have received a flyer that says they have opened a new office in Ealing Broadway and are doing a 0% commission. I've done a little bit of research and see that they have a number of offices and very well regarded in London.I have a property I'm thinking of selling and the 0% offer seems too good to miss out on, given the sort of fees some agents charge.Any advice will be appreciated. Sony Laptop Battery Problems

I have a Sony VAIO Laptop which would not hold the battery charge for more than 25 munites since the day it was puchased. Has anyone else had a similar problem?I took it back to the store just after purchase but was just told to fully charge the battery overnight. It made no difference. I regret not having returned the laprop at the time, unfortunately, I just continued to use it connected to the mains. What annoys me is that Sony are always sending me emails about new products but their after sales service leaves a lot to be desired. Now reading on verious forums I find that many other VAIO users had complaints about the poor battery performance.Unfortunately the laptop is out of warranty and Sony said I should buy another battery at a cost of £91.00 plus vat!According to their email they only give 6 months warranty with the battery when purchased with the laptop! Would anyone buy a product with such a short guarantee? I doubt it.Sony products have not been so reliable in recent years I feel because   the battery in my camera is also rubbish. Once upon a tine I would only buy Sony products but I certainly won't buy Sony products in future.Has anyone else had problems with Sony products?

cheap/free office space

Hi allI'm looking to start a small business and so I am looking for an office space. I know most boroughs seem to have an enterprise hub these days, to help promote new businesses by giving them cheap office space. The business would promote the arts in Ealing and surrounding boroughs by providing art activities for schools, museums, and other establishments including housing estates and shopping centres.Does anyone know of cheap community office space in Ealing? Thanks

Driving to Wembley Stadium in rush hour Friday

Ok. I don't do this normally. I'm going to the England v Montenegro match tomorrow ( fri). Kicks off 8pm. Going from West Ealing near Argyle Rd. What is the most sensible way to go? I could drive and park at the pre pay car parks to the west of IKEA ( so come off n. circular). I could get with bus 83 or 297. Anyone tried driving that way in rush hour on a Friday night?

Cost of Walpole Park work?

There seems to be a lot of re-furbishment work going on in Walpole Park. What is it costing? When might it be completed?

Good news haircut

Our kind neighbour drove me to my haidresser in Northfield Ave recently 'cos it was raining and I've given up using our car. He needed a haircut, so he thought of trying my trusty barber. My neighbour was pleasantly surprised at the modest cost of his unplanned novel 'shortbacknsides' - only £5 as it was a weekday and he was an OAP! My neighbour used to pay £10 plus tip for his haircut in central Ealing - he is well pleased! How much does a short back n'sides cost you?

Assyrian House - Temple Road.... Planning Application?

Anybody any idea or heard any whispers on the status of this?I couldn't find previous threads on this from a couple of months agoI've inquired a few times direct to EPD with no joy and the Planning Portal under PP/2013/1087 still states "Pending"Maybe if a local Councillor had a Pre-Planning Application meeting it'd already be over the line?!?!?!?The silence and delay make me nervous that this going to suddenly be waved through and yet another over-developed blot be forced on a residential area with noise, disruption & aggro for all who live local. I couldn't of objected any stronger to this and feel it will be a nightmare if it goes ahead in any way, shape or form.Any updates most welcome
