What the hell has that got to do with a COUNCIL?!!!Yet more virtue signalling money spunking by those Lefty Tossers in charge at LBE.Just leave it to the Police and get on with providing effective & efficient SERVICES you Lefty Losers.

All local authorities have a clear statutory obligation to work to reduce crime including hate crime. This legally binds them to take measures which generally requires close partnership working with other agencies including the police.Both of you have castigated both the council and the Mayor for a lack of action on crime so it looks like you are only concerned about money being wasted on crimes of which you are unlikely to be a victim.

But is "Hate Crime" actually a "Crime"?Many/most would argue that it isn't, it's just Lefty Liberal Woke BS.You know, "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me." sort of thing.It's all about PRIORITIES.Do people want valuable resources spent on this nonsense or, say, investigating burglaries or actual physical assaults, not just hurty words?I know which I prefer.

Hate crime is a crime  as defined by statute. It is not just a matter of 'hurty words'. Causing someone offence is not a criminal act on its own — to be prosecutable it has to be accompanied by assault, a threat or overt hostility. A hate crime is more often than not, an aggravating factor for another crime.
