A Traffic Wardens Mentality & Ealing Councils Advice???

Last week ( Fri 15/04/16) Longfield Ave ironically a UPS parcel van was parked & delivering mail to Dickens Yard.He received a ticket. When questioning the warden & enquiring where was it possible to park, this was answered with a shrug.How can the guy do his job?? Does the warden not realise he needs to deliver, park somewhere & in the long run push up the cost of parcel deliveries.What do the council suggest, the driver said it was a common occurrence, can someone from the council offer guidance????

Before if you wanted a skip on the street you would go to Percival House queue for approx 15 minutes pay £10 and get your licence there and then ring skip company get skip SIMPLES. Now skip company has to apply for licence which takes 5 working days and cost £120 + VAT ie skip on driveway delivered straight away for £240 skip on street 5 days £384 NOT SIMPLES

Why would a local Councillor register himself and family members in two addresses at the same time?

Our council leader, Julian Bell and/or his wife, simultaneously registered themselves and the same family members in their private house in Eastfields Road as well as their housing association house in Noel Road, just round the corner. He did this on the Ealing electoral register for two years running in 2008 and 2009. Why do you think he would do that? Also, for three years (2011, 2012 and 2013) Cllr Bell and family registered themselves in his private Eastfields Rd house and no-one was registered in his housing association place in Noel Road. If his registrations were truthful why would social landlord A2Dominion allow him to keep the social home and why didn't he give the home back to them so a family in need might have it? This is a social home with a rent subsidised by us tax payers and as I understand it Cllr Bell will be getting a subsidy of around 70% off the market rent. If his family didn't live in the social home for three years because they were living at his other house then surely they don't need the housing association house anymore? If they were really living in the social home then why did hhe or his wife fill in a electoral registration form to Ealing Council saying they weren't? Why would a councillor, of all people, register falsely? Wouldn't false registrations call into question his honesty?Interestingly, in election years 2010 and 2014 Cllr Bell and/or his wife registered family members back in the housing association house again. I wonder why. Perhaps they thought those years might get more attention?It is all very strange and must have been done for a reason. What reason(s) do people think it could have been done for?

Band for secondary school summer festival needed

Hi, I'm writing on behalf of the newly set up PTA of The Green School, a girls only secondary school in Isleworth. We are currently planning our first ever summer festival for the girls and their parents to celebrate 220 years of our school. To put it bluntly: we haven't got much money and we would like a band playing on the fair. As a regular reader of this lovely forum I know how helpful you can all be and I would therefore like any advice of how to find a band, which can play; basically for free, on a Friday late afternoon - evening in July. Maybe you or your teenagers even have a band and would like to play in front of hundreds of teenage girls with instant access to Instagram and knowledge to upload to You Tube within seconds? ;) Any ideas welcomed! Travellers on Ealing Common

I have tweeted the council about the travellers parked at the end of Warwick road between Ealing Common. The reason for this is the human waste, bottles of wee and rubbish strewn around the area of their caravans. After the damage travellers caused in our borough last year that cost the council over £20k to clear up I do not understand why a harder stance is not taken. Also if there are £50 fines to dog owners that do not pick up their waste why is it not the same for humans? It seems Ealing council either don't care, are too scared to do anything. Has anyone else complained to the council?

Good Estate Agent

I recently sold through Go View London, Ealing Common branch, who advertise on this website, we found them excellent to deal with.  Very personable and professional in their approach.  I think like anything you get what you pay for in life and there is a variety of competitors in the field – an Internet agency approached us by letter, but at the end of the day dealing with viewings and trying to get somebody over the finishing line is crucial and sometimes better leave it in the hands of the professionals, especially on price etc.

Family of Taqui Khezihi

I would like to get in touch with the family of Taqui Khezihi, a young man who was brutally murdered in Ealing by a gang of youths in 2013. One of the youths convicted of his murder is appealing to be released on the grounds that he was convicted under joint enterprise.His family are trying to portray him as an innocent bystander who did'nt understand what was happening.I know for a fact this individual is evil and the thought that he may be released back into the community by a gullible court makes me sick.If anyone knows the Khezihi family could they please ask them to get in touch with me so we can join forces and set up a campaign to stop this animal being released and keep him behind bars where he belongs.Bob Little07852453945robertlittle1959@yahoo.co.uk

From the front page I see the food inspectors have recently given this restaurant a rating of 1 out of 5.  The summary of "The structural compliance - which refers to cleanliness, layout and condition of the building, was rated as very good. The food and hygiene procedures were deemed to be 'fair', but it was the confidence in management which scored lowest." doesn't seem too bad to me. Anyone shed any light on how the assessment and ratings work?

How should Macedonia respond ?

Hard call I think. Whilst people are obviously desperate and prepared to do anything it seems, and who wouldn't, especially if you had children, doesn't the hard fact remain that people who could afford it somehow, managed to illegally get to Greece and the poor have to stay? Also it appears that an awful lot of those making illegal crossings are not Syrians. Given also that Mrs m said all Syrians fleeing the war were welcome, should she not be responsible for sending officials and planes to fly these poor people she gave hope to, directly to Germany? No easy answers for anyone, but the simple fact of life imo is that one continent can't subsume everyone from the others just because they want a better life I'm afraid, understandable as that is. From both sides.  Personally I don't think the Macedonian government has a choice but to send those breaking through illegally back. My original point being only those who could pay made the illegal crossings. Not fair on those who are still stuck there.  And at risk of a tirade, which I'm happy to share my views on, how come I've lost count of the many interviews I've seen on BBC, of youngish men pleading for the right to settle in the west and then hope to bring the young wife and kids to Europe? If it's safe enough to leave your wife and kids, surely it's safe enough for them,,? Thoughts please.

ENERGY BOOST TOMORROW - in Chiswick

Energy Therapists will be at the London Buddhist Vihara, The Avenue, W4 1UD tomorrow, 11th April between 11am and 1pm (last session 12.45).  The session takes about 15-20 minutes and I am sure that you will feel really good at the end of that time, with lots of vital energy to enable you to enjoy whatever you have planned for the day!  A number of therapists come in each month and give their services free.  The Vihara kindly allow us to use the hall at no charge so a donation is most welcome  - all donations are given to the Vihara.These sessions are not related to any religion, everyone is welcome.
