FREE EVENT TOMORROW - HORSENDEN HILL RURAL CRAFTS FAIR

Hi AllHoping to see you all at Horsenden Hill Farm tomorrow (19th May) for the First Annual Rural Crafts Fair, organised by the Friends of Horsenden Hill. It’s from 11-4 and it’s free, so why not bring the whole family? There will be wood whittling, willow weaving and a chance to find out more about how Horsenden Hill is reviving forgotten crafts and conservation skills. Who/what are Ealing Patrol Services and what's  the deal with South Ealing Cemetery

Who are these men who got around in "police-like" vehicles wearing black boilersuits/coveralls with "Ealing Patrol Services" printed on the front and on the back? Are they police or are part of Ealing Council? I watched a van-load of police driving out of South Ealing Cemetery onto Popes Lane half-an-hour ago leaving behind what appeared to be half-a-dozen police men and a couple of high-visibility marked police vehicles and some non-uniformed people about a hundred and fifty feet inside the cemetery itself. On closer inspection the vehicles were not police though were very police-like and the men in uniforms had black coverealls with "Ealing Patrol Services on them?First, who are the these people (police/council/VIGILANTES?)Secondly, what is it with the South Ealing Cemetery as a crime nexus?Thirdly, will we ever find out what happened in the South Ealing Cemetery on Sunday before lasy, May Day, that required two helicopters, three motorbikes, and seven police cars?

Police and Helicopter Incident Bank Holiday Monday South Ealing Little Ealing Lane

Does anyone have any idea what all the helicopter activity over South Ealing this afternoon is all about? There was one hovering over The Quadrant/Little Ealing Lane/the South Ealing Road at 15.45 (bar fight?) for a while and there is one now doing wider circles?.Wow! Four police cars just shot by and the helicopter is back hovering, and here some a couple more cars.......

Shocking attack on South Ealing Road

Taken from a witness on Northfields friends forum Friday 3pm "2 absolute c***s broad day light South Ealing road just attempted to attack someone off their moped and steal it in front of my car. In traffic throwing hammers across the road. Whoever the boy was being chased I am shaking for you. The guys at Bills motorcycles with bats coming out the shop, well done to you!!! Absolute vile pigs I am shaking cannot actually believe what I have just seen. Then they kicked wing mirrors off people’s cars for looking?! For once in my life I didn’t get involved I was frozen. This all happened in about 5 seconds. Lovely sons people have I hope your proud"

New Gunnersbury Park Cafe

We tried the new cafe today.First impressions - chaotic queueing system, very slow service on drinks.  It took me 13 minutes from joining the queue to leaving with an americano, a mocha and a 'nutty' brownie.Cost was £7.60 for the 3 items. Coffee very weak, almost tasteless, mocha  didn't taste of coffee or chocolate, brownie tasted of cardboard. We'll give it another try at a less busy time, just to be fair, but if the coffee doesn't improve, we won't go back again.Not as good as the old cafe - and they no longer sell the delicious ice cream, which was one of the major reasons for patronising the original establishment.All in all a disappointment.

Barbara speake stage school and agency

If anybody is thinking of attending the Barbara speake stage school and agency please think carefully After being ignored for several weeks Miss Speake finally responded to my social worker. As you can see from the letter she states she is perfectly within her rights as an independent school to exclude a child if the parent is causing trouble.she describes what i have said as slander and that she had complaints about me over a long period of time, she also states a meeting which issues were raised and discussed and that i chose to pass on to other parents. Let me clarify a few things There is no mention of my daughter, she made it very clear she is an independent school and basically its her way or the high way, she also says parents complained about me and that i was a nuisance, if this is true why wasn't i informed that people had been talking about me in such a way that it was deemed so bad she had to expel my daughter. Miss speake is very good at speaking her mind and pulling people into the office and as i was on the school premises so much why didn't she do this? why did she listen to people and not talk to me directly after all i have know her and most of the teachers for over 20 years, This gets me onto my meeting with miss speak i chose to talk to her as a curtesy as i did respect her  and  I wanted to inform her about my withdrawal from the agency and the reasons for it and that i thought she should look into shereen the agent because i feel she ripped me off £70, i showed her all my paperwork as evidence and by her own admission she wasn't happy about the 800 casting app which shereen was promoting and as she was coming in for a meeting later that day she would bring it up with her.with regards to issues raised in the meeting it was only about the 800 casting app nothing more and yes i did tell people who asked because i didn't want anyone to be ripped off even though i was the only idiot to buy it.Miss speak has described what i have said as slander does she actually know what it means because everything i have said is the truth and if asked i have evidence to back EVERYTHING i have said up.Miss speak on the other hand uses her voice and people around her to say and do things to make her look good or even vanrable   Slander oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another which untruth will harm the reputation of the person so if anyone is causing Slander it is Miss Speak.

Ealing council website

What has happened to the council’s website? All other borough have published the results of yesterday election apart from Ealing. It’s server is down. Not a very good start for the re-elected Labour administration.

Finding Michael Of Mattock Lane

Long shot I know...but does anyone know a Michael who lives towards the West Ealing end of Mattock Lane. About 5ft 9,  60ish, grey/white hair and possibly a beard.  He is due for an operation at Charring Cross in a bout 3 weeks.  I met him last week at the hospital while he was feeding the fishes.  I would very much like to get in touch with him.Please PM me with any details.  Thanks.

Tory Wipe Out in Ealing on 3rd May

Having made a throw away comment in another thread about the Conservatives losing all their seats in Ealing borough in the local elections I thought I'd take a closer look just to see if it was a real possibility. Having done so I have to say that it is and that the Conservatives will certainly have a low single figure number of councillors and maybe even a big fat zero. Amazing to think that within the last decade they controlled the Council. I'm not saying that this is a good thing - in fact Council's overly dominated by one party don't tend to be particularly well run. Some very good and diligent councillors look set to lose their seats.On a ward by ward basis if you take Cleveland, Ealing Common and Northfield ward the national and London-wide swing against the party makes it very unlikely they will hold onto any of the seats there as their margin is small. One exception might be David Millican's seat in Northfield where is high personal vote combined with three opposition parties all thinking they have a chance might allow him to hang on.The two Tory 'safe' wards of Hanger Hill and Ealing Broadway present a real problem for them. They had the second and fourth highest percentage votes in the borough for Remain both over 70% In addition they have an extremely high proportion of EU citizens from other countries - 19.3% and 18.0% respectively as of the 2011 census. EU citizens can vote and the number resident will have gone up substantially over the last seven years. If they hang on in these wards it will be because the opposition vote is split three ways.

I see from the news article on this site's front page that a Council spokesperson states that the turning bans have improved safety at the Uxbridge Road junction with no reported collisions since its introduction.Well as a staggering 11,000 drivers flouted these restrictions does not that go some way to demonstrate that the junction is safe without any turning restrictions in and out?

Local Ealing Elections Thursday

For the first time ever I am really struggling to vote Labour in the local elections this Thursday.  I wouldn’t hesitate to vote Labour in a general but in Ealing I have real difficulty voting for a party led by Julian Bell. I struggle to see how any person with any principles, let alone socialist ones, would continue to occupy a charity owned home meant for people on the lower income scale who aren’t property owners. Julian Bell has several income streams believed to be in excess of £100k and owns a house in the next street which he rents rooms out in for profit. For 11 years he has been occupying both properties. He knows there’s a housing crisis so I just don’t get how he has allowed such an immoral and perverse situation to continue? Anyone else feeling like this?

Tess of the d'Urbervilles @ Questors  - last few performances

This was really good - see Anne Marie's write up on the front page!So was the previous show performed by HEOS of Made in Dagenham which was very funny and empowering which I wish I had been to at the beginning of the run so that I could have gone again.  There are not enough laughs in life!
