Safety fears have led to local parents to call for action
A community and police meeting is to be held in Northfields to discuss the increase in muggings and assaults being reported in Ealing.
(meeting at Ealing Christian Centre)
Over the last few weeks there have been a number of worrying reports of teenagers being forced to hand over phones and bikes. In one case a boy was made to take money from his cashpoint account and assaulted.
The incidents are happening around the parks, both Lammas and Walpole as well as in Ealing Broadway and have led to some calling for 'parent patrols' to keep watch in the absence of any police.
There also appear to be more reports of residential burglaries being posted online - adding to the general sense of unease about crime in the area.
A meeting between residents and local Police will be taking place at 7pm Wednesday 10 April at Ealing Christian Centre on Northfield Avenue. Residents are hoping large numbers will attend to galvanise police action.
Incidents can be reported and safety advice can be found here.
