Four new plays at The Questors tonight

Just when you thought it was safe to go back online, the Questors Theatre presents Revenge is Tweet 2.
It’s another evening of new plays about the darker side of social media.
One of the plays, Nothing Personal by Paul Ryan, provides a worrying suggestion of where we may be heading.
Imagine we are a few years into the future, when the entire country is connected…liking, loving and sharing each other’s posts. If you’re not joining in, you’re regarded as a weirdo.
So, when Stephen decides to disconnect, a government Inspector calls to find out why. He is accompanied by Bill, a ‘repair man’ who provides additional persuasion.
They suspect Stephen has joined a dissident group called The Offliners, who live in the shadows, having disconnected from the internet.
Stephen withstands the Inspector’s interrogation, but he is forcibly re-connected by Bill. Everything is back to normal. Or is it?
This is one of four short plays being performed on June 3 as a QExtra event promoting new writing. They are: Gammon, by Andrew McGuinness; The Sound of Birds, by Tom Harvey; That Dead Girl, by Gareth Jandrell; Nothing Personal, by Paul Ryan.
The producer, Sue Collins, says the event continues the Questors tradition of developing new writing for the stage:
"The original Revenge is Tweet evening in January was a great success.
“So many people turned up we couldn't squeeze them all into our Studio space! But this time we are in our main auditorium, the Judi Dench Playhouse, so we should have enough seats for everyone.
“I think a lot of people really like short plays, and there's no doubt that the idea of exploring the darker side of social media struck a chord with many people.
“And of course, events like this are a great opportunity for new writers to see their plays performed in the theatre, in front of an audience. That's really important for any writer.
“This process is helping to develop a new generation of playwrights."
Revenge is Tweet 2 is in the Judi Dench Playhouse at 7.45pm on Monday 3 June.
And it’s absolutely free!
