A 27-year-old man has died after being stabbed in Southall this Tuesday afternoon (28 March). Reportedly the victim and his brother were set upon by a group of up to six men with knives and baseball bats who pursued them down the street. The attack was witnessed by children who were being collected from school at the time.
The Evening Standard quotes eye-witnesses who claim that the man was beaten and stabbed several times as he lay screaming.
He was found injured on Featherstone Road, near the junction with Hartington Road at around 3.30pm. An air ambulance was called to the scene and he was transferred to a hospital in east London but died earlier this Wednesday morning.
Although he has not been formally identified his next of kin have been informed.
A second male believed to be the man's elder brother, aged 31, received minor stab injuries during the incident. He ran into the nearby Featherstone Road Health Centre to get help and was taken to a central London hospital.
According to a witness quoted in the Standard the gang ran off towards Sussex Road after the attack 'smiling and hugging each other which was quite weird'.
