Pantomime and a gothic ghost story make up Christmas programme
December 5, 2024 The Questors Theatre in Ealing has had to cope with the escape of a pantomime cow called Pat ahead of this year’s festive programme. It has released a video of the pursuit in which the pesky beast was spotted across Ealing as well as on the pitch at Hanwell Town football club and the ActOne cinema in Acton. Having been recaptured the front end and back end of the cow will be appearing in this year’s pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk which runs from this Friday (6 December) until New Year’s Eve. Join Jack on his quest up into the clouds to defeat the Giant and save the Princess aided (or should that be hindered) by his mother and brother. It’s aims to be a classic feel-good family show with all your traditional panto favourites – expect slapstick fun, villains to boo, dance routines and plenty of audience participation. Can the cow, Pat, save the villagers? Will Jack triumph over the Giant and his evil henchman? OK, you know he will - but how?
Performances are at 7pm on weekdays, 2pm and 7pm on Saturdays and 1pm Sundays with an extra New Year’s Eve performance at 3pm. Opening Night tickets are £10 adults and £5 children. All other shows from £10 to £26 depending on date and seat selection with child, student and concession discounts available. Meanwhile in the studio, the world premiere of Jude Emmet’s new play The Mystery of Fellstone Manor is being staged from 13-30 December. Returning to his ancestral home with his bride-to-be, a groom keenly anticipates his Christmas wedding. The snow-covered Fellstone Manor looks like the perfect venue for a seasonal celebration. But the dark secrets of the past start to haunt the present. Will an ancient curse stand in the way of the couple’s future happiness? All shows are at 7:30pm except Sunday 15, 22 and 29 when they are at 2:30pm. There are no shows on 16, 17, 24, 25, 26 and 27 December. Standard tickets range from £14-£20 with concessions from £12-£18 and under 18s and students at £10.
