Alzheimer's Society ambassador and tv presenter, Ruth Langford, will be starting the Ealing Mile this Saturday, 23rd May.

The Alzheimer’s Society is the Headline Charity of the Award-winning Ealing Half Marathon and organisers decided to support Dementia Awareness Week, by hosting a mile special.

This Saturday's event will be free for all runners, organisers are asking instead that everyone makes a donation to Alzheimer’s Society.

Ruth, will join runners this Saturday (23rd May) at 11am in Lammas Park, Ealing and is encouraging local people to come and join in.

Ruth said: '' I am not known for my ability to run but this is the best reason I know to get my trainers on! 225,000 people will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes.

“The work the Alzheimer’s Society does in research, raising awareness about dementia ans supporting families is incredible. So please come along, donate and support Dementia Awareness Week.

“I want to thank the Ealing Half Marathon for making Alzheimer’s Society the headline sponsor for the second year and for raising money this Saturday – it really does help to make the difference.

“And if you get bitten by the running bug this Saturday, then the Ealing Half Marathon can be your next to goal to continue to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society!”
