Competition closes on 31st March
The organisers of the first Ealing Half Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 30th September 2012 are holding a competition on their Facebook & Twitter accounts to find out why people are running the event.
Leader of Ealing Council, Cllr Julian Bell, himself no stranger to twitter (@juliangbell) will be judging the entries and selecting the winners in early April.
@steve_griff_uk: I'm running the @EalingHalf because I used to struggle to run 1km around the Common at 6am, so I am looking forward to a slighty larger lap! @MFM_Ealing: I'm running the @EalingHalf marathon because I don't think I can and I want to prove myself wrong! I'm running the Ealing Half Marathon because I can't run yet. And I dislike running. But I dislike failing more, and my dislike of failing is (hopefully) bigger than my dislike of running. I am running the Ealing Half Marathon because the miracle is not to finish; the miracle is to have the courage to start I'm running the Ealing half marathon because I cant run a full marathon :D I'm running Ealing Half Marathon because ..... I used to live in Ealing as a child and it will be like running down memory lane for me!! :-) For more information about the Ealing Half Marathon, to enter or to volunteer visit here 29th March 2012
