The 2025 Hanwell Hootie, held this Saturday (10 May) has been hailed as a resounding success, solidifying its reputation as London's largest free one-day music festival with thousands of people attending.

Celebrating its 12th year, the event featured over 90 artists performing across 15 stages throughout Hanwell including venues such as Sandy Park, Hobbayne Centre, St Thomas', and Viaduct Garden.

The festival maintained its core mission of supporting young and emerging artists while celebrating Hanwell’s rich musical heritage. Notably, the popular busking boat returned and the event also showcased a diverse lineup of genres, ensuring that attendees of all musical tastes found something to enjoy.

Community involvement remained a cornerstone of the Hootie, with a dedicated team of volunteers ensuring the festival's smooth operation. The continued support from Marshall Amplification, a sponsor since the festival's inception, played a significant role in the event's ongoing success.

One regular attendee said, “I’d say in many ways this was the best one ever, the range and quality of music improves every year and this time we were blessed with perfect weather. The only problem, which isn’t really a problem if you think about it, was how packed some of the venues were.”

The Hootie is run by a small team of volunteers who give up their spare time to stage the event. Ever since inception, they have aimed to pay artists fair fees while ensuring the festival remains free to attend.

Following the day the Hootie Team posted on social media, “It has been wonderful to hear all your positive comments about the festival and all the great new music you have discovered and the moments you shared… Now when the Beatles said ‘all you need is love’ …They were only telling you half the story sadly. “

They added, “We feel blessed with love, but we also need… Money .

“To show your appreciation for the festival and our ethos please do donate.

“Every little helps and it proves to us that you want the festival to continue.”
