Ealing Council is holding a series of public meetings at which it will present its Local Development Framework (LDF) Development Strategy. This strategy, when approved by National Government, will guide all developments throughout the borough for 15 years – from 2011 to 2016.

These meetings are on

9th September in Ealing Town Hall

16th September in Greenford;

24th September in Southall;

1st October in Acton

More details at can be found here

It’s important to attend these meetings and tell the Council how we want the borough and our community to be ‘developed’ and how we don’t want to see them being ‘developed’.

The meetings might also be a good chance, no doubt, to meet the Council’s new Head of Planning Policy Steve Barton. Steve has recently replaced Dick Johns who has now retired.

Ealing’s LDF, when completed, will replace Ealing’s Unitary Development Plan (UDP). West Ealing Neighbours had assembled a useful set of documents which will help you to understand what the LDF processes and the LDF documents are all about. See the ‘Local Development Framework’ page at www.westealingneighbours.org.uk
