Up to twenty writers will again feature in the showcase event
January 28, 2026 Published writers with a strong connection to the area are being invited to step into the spotlight as part of this year’s Ealing Book Festival, which returns from 29 April to 3 May. The festival’s popular Local Authors Showcase is once again seeking up to 20 writers to take part in what has become one of the liveliest and most entertaining events in the programme. The evening gives selected authors a strict two-minute slot to pitch their book to an audience of enthusiastic and committed book lovers, followed by the chance to sell copies and meet readers afterwards. In previous editions of the festival, the showcase has proved a highlight for audiences and participants alike, offering a fast-paced introduction to the breadth of writing talent in Ealing – from fiction and poetry to memoir, history and children’s books. For many writers, it has also provided a valuable platform to reach new readers and connect with the borough’s vibrant literary community. The 2026 Ealing Book Festival will continue its tradition of celebrating books, ideas and storytelling across a packed five-day programme of author talks, panel discussions and community events. With a strong emphasis on accessibility and local engagement, the festival aims to showcase both high-profile names and emerging voices, while putting Ealing’s cultural life firmly centre stage. Local authors with recently published work who would like to be considered for the showcase are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. An application form can be requested by emailing localauthors@ealingbookfestival.com , with the deadline for entries set at Monday 27 March. Readers and festival-goers can register for updates and early access to tickets at www.ealingbookfestival.com.
