It started as a post on the Ealing Today forum, and in just a few weeks a new club has formed.

Ealing's Backgammon players have been itching to play again and thanks to Dr Doria Schmid they can now do so, and tonight is their special launch.

Doria writes:

'' First and foremost, a big Thank you to Ealing Today and the Forum. You started the ball rolling!

Now Backgammon in Ealing is going from strength to strength. There is an increased interest in the group far and wide. We have even been contacted by other backgammon organizers, like Richard of ‘The London League’ and feel very proud about it.

To make it easy for everybody to join, we established a Facebook group that is fast growing (facebook.com/groups/backgammon.ealing) and a mailing  address (backgammoninealing@gmail.com).

We have among us top-ranked national players like Peter Bennet and Geoff Oliver, and players who can barely play, like me. But we have in common our passion for backgammon. We even offer beginners lessons in how to play.

Our grand opening night is on Tuesday 26 at 7.30 at the Castlebar Pub (84 Uxbridge Road, West Ealing) to whom we are grateful for the ongoing support.  We are all very excited about it and we anticipate a good turnout. Backgammon in Ealing is open to everyone.   So do not hesitate to join us for a night to remember.

Thank you once more. We could not have done it without you!''

Hope you have a great night!
