Youth raising funds for cause supported by George Harrison
December 12, 2024 One of the world’s top record producers was in Ealing at the weekend (7 December) to help launch a charity record to raise funds for the charity Food For All. Youth, who was a founding member and bassist of the rock band Killing Joke and also performed with Paul McCartney as a member of the Fireman, went on to produce albums for acts ranging from U2, The Verve, Souixsie and the Banshees and Bananarama. Youth says he was inspired to produce the new single by the work of Food For All and the memory of Beatle George Harrison. 'This Love' available in 12" single, 7" single, CD and digital, was recorded at Abbey Road Studios and features musicians from the Radha Krishna Temple, George Harrison, donated to the organisation in 1973, buy the charity single and help feed the homeless here: suriyarecordings.bandcamp.com Speaking at a record and CD fair at Christ the Saviour Church Hall he said, “I was introduced to the Hari Krishnas through Poly Styrene of X-Ray Spex. I was very happy to help and support this project. They are brilliant examples of human beings. Through their charity Food For All UK, the temple does so much good work, producing thousands of meals a day from their kitchen near Kings Cross.” The musicians on the charity single play a wide range of instruments as what Youth calls a “multi-fusion collective.”
