The Mayor has called for an urgent investigation after seeing video recording of a member of staff at Holborn underground station apparently screaming abuse at a passenger boarding a central line train.

The incident happened at the packed station yesterday afternoon (Thursday15/Oct) and was witnessed and filmed by a shocked commuter Jonathan Macdonald.

In the clip the worker - known as Ian- is seen shouting and swearing at the elderly man after he had earlier trapped his arm in a closing door.

Boris Johnson says he is appalled by the video and asked TflL to investigate.

TfL released this statement:

"We are appalled by the scene captured in this video and will investigate thoroughly and urgently what took place and what led to it. We do not tolerate members of the public being abusive to our staff but neither will we tolerate members of our staff abusing members of the public."

The tube worker has now been suspended.
