Hanwell restaurant taken to court
Health inspectors used emergency powers to shut a Turkish restaurant in Hanwell after discovering a catalogue of problems. The Royal Restaurant, 15 Broadway Buildings, Boston Road, W7 was closed on Wednesday 17th March during a partnership day involving police and council enforcement officers. The surprise inspection revealed evidence of rats in the kitchen, a lack of hot water, dirty conditions, a poor food safety management system and concerns about the training of staff. Last Thursday, Ealing Magistrates heard how the conditions presented an imminent risk of injury to health and confirmed the council's actions were correct in closing the restaurant. The business has now made urgent improvements, and, following another check, has been allowed to reopen. It's believed the premises is due to be taken over by a new food business operator. Ealing Today has been unable to contact the owners for a comment.
