This was the aftermath of the car crash on Popes Lane last Thursday (28th February).

Police were called at 5.10pm to the junction with North Road and found London Fire Brigade attending a car that had caught fire after crashing into the side of a house.

Two people had left the scene of the collision and police say attempts to locate them are underway.

As yet they have not been identified or located.

The collision damaged an electricity sub-station which was made safe by Southern Electric. This affected the electricity supply causing a power cut to nearby properties.

The fire caused minor damage to the house. Fortunately nobody was injured.
