Ealing’s favourite Christmas card retailer, the Ealing Charity Christmas Card Shop, has opened its doors for the 32nd year, The shop sells cards from over 30 charities and is unique because it is one of only a few charity card shops where 100% of the money raised goes to charity. Organiser and founder Sue Green MBE, who last year was recognised for her charitable endeavors with an MBE in the 2017 New Year Honours List, said, ‘We are delighted to be opening today for our 32nd year. Our main aim for The Ealing Charity Christmas Card shop is to raise as much money as we can for charity, and it’s our incredible army of volunteers who make this possible. We are so lucky to have the help of over 70 volunteers who work tirelessly to keep the shop running six days a week in the run-up to the festive period. It’s because of them that we’ve been able to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for many different charities since we started in 1985.’
Last year the shop raised over £28,000 for over 30 charities, and more than 100 charities have been supported by the shop over the years.
