A man has been jailed after attacking and seriously injuring a man at a bus stop in Ealing in October 2012.

Lorand Galaczi, aged 26, (10/12/1986) of no fixed abode appeared at Isleworth Crown Court on Thursday 11 April and was sentenced to six years imprisonment.

Back on Sunday 28 October 2012, at approx midnight, Galaczi was seen to punch a man at a bus stop on The Mall, W5. Special Constables who were nearby came to the aid of the victim and Galaczi was quickly arrested at the scene.

The victim was taken to a West London where he underwent surgery for a fractured skull.

T/DC Amrita Dhanjal from Ealing CID said :

“Please let this be a warning to others, that a single punch can result in life changing injuries like those sustained by the victim in this incident. Over five months later, the victim is still receiving treatment for his injuries from which he may never fully recover. The prison sentence reflects the seriousness of this crime and sends a strong message that the Criminal Justice system takes violence on our streets seriously.”
