A murder investigation has been launched following the death of man in Southall.

At approximately 12.15 hrs on Saturday 14 May, police in Southall were made aware of a man being assaulted in Spikes Bridge Road.

It is believed the 24-year-old victim was attacked around 06.00 hrs on the same day. He was taken to a west London hospital where he later died.

A post-mortem at Uxbridge mortuary today, Sunday 15 May, gave cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest.

Next of kin have not been informed and formal identification will take place in due course.

An incident room has opened under Detective Inspector Richard Ambrose of the Metropolitan Police's Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC).

On Sunday 15 May, two people were arrested by officers: Aa 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder and a 21-year-old woman in connection with the enquiry.
