September 5, 2024 Notting Hill and Ealing High School (NHEHS) will have a new Head next year following the appointment of Mrs Alison Saunders. She will be replacing Matthew Shoults who is taking up a new role at Surbiton High School and will take up her new role at the beginning of the summer term. Mrs Rebecca Irwin will step into the role of Acting Head for the Spring term. She is currently Senior Deputy Head, a position she has held for eight years, and has previous experience as interim Acting Head of NHEHS. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, Mrs Saunders is currently Senior Deputy Head at St Catherine’s, an independent girls’ school in Twickenham, a position she has held for two years. Prior to this, she was Deputy Head at St Helen’s, an academically selective independent girls’ school in Northwood. NHEHS says she is a highly experienced and dedicated senior leader with an accomplished track record of developing and implementing ambitious and innovative solutions, delivered in the best interests of her students. Mrs Saunders says, “It is an honour and privilege to be appointed Head of Notting Hill & Ealing High School following Matthew’s tenure. I am enormously excited to be joining the school and doing all I can to continue developing the school’s outstanding reputation. I look forward to working in collaboration with the school community, to enable our students to strive for ambitious goals and fearlessly embrace challenge and opportunity in order to fulfil their full potential.”
