New role for Ealing North Labour MP Stephen Pound
It’s a game of two halves for Labour MP for Ealing North, Steve Pound. He’s shown his verbal skills aren’t just reserved for the political arena....he can talk a good game of football too. The long standing politician and Fulham FC fan has won a competition for the best football report of the week, for his comments on the West Ham vs. Fulham game at the weekend. The “Wink of the Week” competition is organised by the UK’s video communications company WinkBall. WinkBall reporters attend hundreds of football matches, where they interview fans about the game. Every week the best of the interviews is showcased and a prize for the best interview, or ‘Wink’, is awarded. The West Ham vs Fulham game ended in a 1-1 draw, but that didn’t stop Mr Pound from claiming: “We could have skinned them today. If only we had someone who could put a ball in the back of the net. As it is we’re unbeatable.” The politician scores £100 for his efforts and will be donating his award to 1st Hanwell Scout Group. Watch his comments here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATbyFJiCwk8
