Councillor Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council, will be on the panel alongside Boris Johnson with other transport experts and local representatives to take questions from the audience.

The event, Lets Talk about Transport, takes place at Greenford Assembly rooms on Ruislip Road between 7pm and 8:30pm. Councillor Julian Bell will use this opportunity to push the mayor to commit to improving transport in the borough.

Some topics that will likely be up for discussion are the improvements at the Lido Junction, the congestion zone being reduced in size, the end of the pilot to allow motorcycles in bus lanes and the improvements at the Ealing Broadway interchange.

The debate will be chaired by Richard Barnes, Deputy Mayor of London and Assembly member for Ealing and Hillingdon. Councillor Bell said:

"This is your chance to question the Mayor of London about transport and what it means for you, the local environment and business in the borough. Transport affects us all on a daily basis and can have a huge impact on our lifestyle. I want to ensure Ealing residents are getting the best deal possible from the Greater London Authority. "I too have a few questions for the Mayor such as why the work of putting in a lift at Greenford station was halted halfway through - meaning the station is not fully accessible. The congestion problems on Greenford Broadway will be on my agenda and I'll also be asking the Mayor what he plans to do to mitigate against the inevitable transport disruptions that will be caused by the creation of thousands of homes at the old Southall Gasworks site."
