West Ealing Library reopens today (Tuesday, 22 September) following a £630,000 investment from Ealing Council to turn it into a modern and accessible facility.

The revamped facility in Melbourne Avenue will include:

  • a new entrance to the building
  • new carpet, lighting and shelving
  • improved young adults area
  • new disabled toilet

It comes in the wake of the newly reopened Northolt library which was given a £1.3million makeover.

Councillor Phil Taylor, Cabinet Member for Customer and Community Services (pictured with daughter) said:  “I’m very impressed with the transformation at Northolt library, it is bright and airy and a vast improvement on the old facility. We have already taken a lot of bookings for the community rooms at Northolt and I hope more people will now come along and use the library. The improvements at West Ealing will also make a big difference and I’m sure it will be enjoyed by residents.”
