A man is in custody after a teenage girl suffered knife wounds outside a school in Northolt this Wednesday (16 April).

The attack took place on Godfrey Avenue shortly before 8.14pm near the gates of the Alec Reed Academy.

Reports from eye-witnesses suggest she had been slashed across the face after an altercation broke out between a man and a group of teenagers. Two passersby are understood to have intervene during the attack and pushed the man away from the victim.

Police officers arrived shortly afterwards. A police spokesperson said that a man was arrested in suspicion of GBH and remains in custody and a crime scene was put in place.

London Ambulance Service says it sent ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a member of its tactical response unit and the victim was treated at the scene before being sent to hospital. Her injury was not life threatening.
