A 50-year-old man is facing a murder charge after a woman was found dead in Perivale this Friday (28 February).

Mugurel Nica was arrested at the scene on Jubilee Road shortly after 1:40am. The emergency services had been called after reports of a disturbance.

Paramedics battled to save 45-year-old Ana Maria Murariu but, despite their best efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nica, was charged the following day and is due to appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 3 March.

A special post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detective Inspector Richard Kempshall, from Specialist Crime, said, “We are continuing to support Ana Maria's family at this difficult time and our thoughts remain with them. We are not actively seeking anyone else in connection with this investigation.”
