The 58-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in a West Ealing pub has been named as Wayne Phillips who was from West Hampstead.

Detectives are continuing to investigate his murder after they were called to the Star and Scorpion pub on the Uxbridge Road at 11.55pm on Saturday, 23 July. Reportedly most of the people present were attending a birthday party.

They found Mr Philips had suffered stab injuries and, despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to have been blood loss and stab wound to the heart.

58-year-old Timothy Simon, of Ray Walk, Islington
will remain in custody until a plea hearing at the Old Bailey scheduled for 13 October.
