Police say 'protracted serious incident' at the weekend

Two youths are in hospital after what police are describing as a gang related incident in West Ealing in the early hours of Sunday 16th December.

Uxbridge Road was closed for much of Sunday following a shooting. There are unconfirmed reports of a fight breaking out between large groups of youths around the time of the incident.

One of the injured people is suffering from a gun shot wound and the other was stabbed but neither of the victims' injuries is thought to be life-threatening. Both of those taken to hospital are sixteen years of age.

Four people have been arrested including the boy that was stabbed. The other three remain remain in custody.

The Metropolitan police have said that the helicopter which hovered above Ealing until about 3am was providing tactical support for officers following a protracted serious incident. The Met apologised for any disturbance caused.
