Ten local organisations in West Ealing have received a share of nearly £50,000 in funding to support community projects, thanks to the latest round of the West Ealing Community Grants Programme.
The programme, run by Clarion Futures, the charitable foundation of Clarion Housing Group, in partnership with A2 Dominion, was established in 2021 as part of the regeneration of Sherwood Close. Since its launch, more than £310,000 has been awarded to initiatives improving local spaces, supporting vulnerable residents, and enhancing community life.
Among the organisations receiving funding this year are:
- AM Partnership Group CIC – supporting AMP UP, a youth-led programme empowering girls aged 11–18 through creative sessions that build confidence and leadership.
- Ealing Mencap – providing welfare benefits advice and representation, including support for residents who speak Hindi, Arabic, and Somali.
- Sal’s Shoes – supplying free school shoes to 300 children in need, following a successful pop-up last year.
- Mahaba Café – offering training and work experience for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter – providing food, companionship, and emergency accommodation for rough sleepers.
Other recipients include the Adult & Community Development Academy, Middlesex Association for the Blind, Mindfulness CIC, The Store Cupboard CIO, and West Ealing Community CIC, all delivering projects to reduce isolation, improve skills, and provide support.
Matt Parsonage, Head of Communities at Clarion Futures, said, “Partnering with organisations that share our values allows us to have a greater impact for local residents, so we’re proud to support these ten groups making a real difference in West Ealing.”
Cllr Blerina Hashani, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for Thriving Communities, added, “By working with local people to identify projects to fund, Clarion Futures is making a real difference to the community, and we’re delighted to be part of it.”
Muriel Morgan, founder of Mahaba Café, highlighted the impact of the grants saying, “Our 39 graduates, many now in employment, show the difference this kind of support makes. We’re proud to work alongside Clarion Futures to create real opportunities in West Ealing.”
The grants programme is part of Clarion’s wider regeneration of Sherwood Close, which is now in its final phase and will deliver more than 360 new flats, two-thirds of which will be affordable.
