Royal has been patron of the homelessness charity for two decades
January 28, 2025 There was a very special guest at Centrepoint in the borough of Ealing last Tuesday (21 January) with the visit of the Prince of Wales. 42-year-old Prince William has been the patron of the homelessness charity for nearly 20 years and he took the time to chat with young people being supported by the centre, play a game of table football and do some sparring in the boxing ring. While there he met 24-year-old Bethany, who having been made homeless aged 17, had gone on to study at the London School of Economics thanks to support received from Centrepoint. William described her as a ‘shining example’ of what the charity has achieved. He also met 21-year-old Nora who was homeless in her teens but now has set up her own hairdressing salon and beauty clinic.
He took part in a fitness session run by the Boxwise Foundation which works with disadvantaged and vulnerable young people across the UK. The Prince posted on social media after his visit, “Since its creation, Centrepoint has worked together with countless young people to help rebuild their lives, offering not just a home, but access to education, employment, and counselling. The stories and personal experiences shared today highlight the life-changing work happening here.”
