Brothers aged eight and four running nearly every day for the NHS
Two brothers from Northfields have pledged to use their daily exercise time to run and raise funds for the NHS after being inspired by Captain Tom Moore. Rio aged eight and Noah aged four are supporting the NHS Imperial Health Trust's charity as they were both born in one of the trust’s hospitals and one of their neighbours works as an ICU nurse at St Mary's Hospital. She currently has to work from very early in the morning until late at night because due to Covid-19. The boys are not used to running long distance and they have been practising over the last 2 weeks. Some they run more than 3.5km and they are going to do their best to run a bit longer every day. Their mum said, “Hearing about the long hours and hard work the health workers are doing now, we wanted to try and do our bit to help. “We have set up a target to raise £500 through crowd funding by using the once a day exercise time to run and to run a little more each day. We are coming close to achieving our target, but we will continue to run while the school is closed to try and raise as much money as possible and also so that my boys have a target and stay positive during this difficult time. “We are very sad to hear that Captain Tom passed away but we will keep doing our best also in honour of him. “ To support their efforts click here.
