Sixth formers at St Benedict’s School in Ealing have been congratulated on their 'excellent A Level results'.

Twenty four students at the independent Catholic school in Eaton Rise achieved three grade As or better, and 12% achieved a top A* grade - the highest in the school’s history.

Head teacher Chris Cleugh said: "Our talented students have produced excellent results at the top end but we are equally pleased with those for whom two Bs and a C represents a huge achievement. St Benedict’s is committed to supporting all students to achieve their full potential and we have a superb independently assessed value-added record at A-level."

Including the Extended Performance Qualification (EPQ) results, the combined A*/A figure of nearly 43% was the best the school has achieved, beating the previous record year of 2009.

Student Anthony Rayner was a top performer with four A*s and one grade A, closely followed by Chiara Tolentino with three A*s and two As. Head Girl Rhianna Ilube received one A* and two As and head boy Matthew Roberts achieved one A* and three As.

Leo Hadcock (three A*s), Chris Dean (two A*s and two As), Christina Haddad and Singh Parikshat (one A* and three As) were also in the top tier.
