Conran Furniture Store to Open in Dickens Yard

Company says that 'historic building' fitted their criteria perfectly

Content by Terence Conran is to open a store in Dickens Yard the mixed use development in the centre of Ealing.

Sir Terence Conran is perhaps best known for founding Habitat which was at one point one of the leading furniture retailers in the UK. He opened the first store in 1964 before selling the chain in 1992 after which it shrank in size and had a number of different owners. It is currently owned by the Sainsbury’s group.

He established Content by Terence Conran in 2003 by Sir Terence Conran. The offering appears to be quite similar to Habitat with the company’s web site claiming that they ‘offers a range of stylish modern and contemporary upholstery and cabinet furniture’. The new store at Dickens Yard will be the second London showroom for the brand following their opening in Park Royal.

We are thrilled to be located in the Old Fire Station, and will be offering our range of contemporary furniture, along with a selection of carefully curated homewares and gifts.

On completion, Dickens Yard will comprise 700 new homes, 104,000 sq ft of retail and a new public square. Businesses already confirmed for the site include Triyoga, Charlotte’s W5 and Benham & Reeves. Openings this year will also include Tonkotsu, Balans Soho Society, Gail’s Bakery, Gymbox, Blo Bar, Kumon, The Skinny Kitchen and Jigsaw.
