British Transport Police (BTP) detectives are appealing for witnesses after two teenage boys were stamped on in a violent robbery on a train between Brentford and Chiswick.

Investigators have today released images (see right) of four men they want to speak to in connection the incident, which took place on Friday, 8 March.

Detective Constable Mark Agrippa, who works for BTP’s dedicated robbery squad, explained: “The victims, two 17-year-old boys, were travelling on a train between Brentford and Chiswick around 8.30pm.

“During their journey, the boys were approached by four men, who engaged them in conversation, offering to sell them drugs, which they declined.”

The men then became aggressive towards the victims and violently robbed them of their phones before leaving the train at Chiswick. As part of their enquiries, police have reviewed CCTV footage from the train and have identified four men they believe have key information about the incident.

DC Agrippa continued: “What followed was an extremely violent attack on the victims. The boys were viciously punched and stamped on and ordered to empty their pockets of their wallets and phones.

“The behaviour of the men was extremely intimidating and left both victims with injuries to their faces.

“Thankfully this kind of incident is rare on the railway network, but when it does happen, we will do all we can to track the offenders and bring them to justice. “

Anyone who recognises the men pictured, or knows their whereabouts, should contact British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40 quoting B7/LSA of 02/04/2013. Alternatively, contact the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
