A new stage production of children’s classic The Wizard Of Oz comes to the Questors theatre during the half-term week, 30 May - 2 June.

In L. Frank Baum’s magical tale, Dorothy is transported from her home in Kansas to Oz, where she encounters good friends, an evil witch and a mysterious wizard.

Together with the tin man, the cowardly lion and the scarecrow, Dorothy follows the yellow brick road to meet the wizard, hoping he can tell her how to get home.

Baum’s story, originally published as a novel entitled The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz, was famously made into a film in 1939, which starred Judy Garland as Dorothy.

Produced by theatre company That Drama Thing, the cast of this new stage production of The Wizard Of Oz includes 40 young children from all over London, who play the munchkins.

It is directed by Chris Chilton, whose acting credits include The Mousetrap in the West End, and choreographed by Katherine Taylor, who recently worked with Will Young in his stage debut at Manchester Royal Exchange. The show is conducted by Richard Ward-Roden, with a live orchestra playing the songs from the famous film.
