Adult Learners' Week comes to Ealing

The activities will run from Saturday, 20 May to Friday, 26 May in the borough's libraries.

It's an opportunity for adults to have a go at something new and for education providers to show people the fascinating courses they can take up.

See creative work going on in the borough

Pop into Central Library in the Broadway Shopping Centre during the week and see plenty of arts and crafts produced by local societies and groups on display.

You can also see all the entries, including the winners', for the 'Win Fairy Treasure' children's competition. Children were invited to send in a painting or drawing they had done of a fairy or their mum to win sets of books by Gwyneth Rees, the popular children's author.

Enjoy learning with your children

Bring your children into Central Library to enjoy craft activities with you by making flags from around the world. This is on Saturday, 20 May from 11am - 4pm. There will also be multicultural mask making with Laurel Brumant from 2 � 4pm.

Learn how to really enjoy reading with your toddler. This event is a family event with SureStart at Acton Library on Tuesday, 23 May from 11am - midday.

Find out how to start detective work

Discover how to trace your family's history at the local history centre in Central Library on Saturday, 20 May anytime from 10am - 4pm.

Discover more about computing

Use the internet to reveal stories from different cultures and create your own links. This is at Southall Library, Osterley Park Road , on the morning of Saturday, 20 May.

Find out how to be a 'Happy Silver Surfer'. It's never too late to catch the bug - if you're over 50 this is a great chance to discover how useful computers can be.
