Three food outlets in the local area including two on Northfield Avenue have received a one star rating from Ealing Council food safety inspectors. This means that it has been concluded that major improvement is necessary in their hygiene standards.

Northfield Peri-Peri & Chicken was rated as poor both for food hygiene and safety and structural compliance and inspectors reported that they had little confidence in management.

Although Kings Fish Bar achieved the same overall rating its deficiencies seem to be more technical and the inspectors rated it as ‘fair’ overall for food hygiene and safety.

Taste of Lahore on West Ealing Broadway also failed to impress and was rated poor for hygiene with the inspector also reporting little confidence in management.

Businesses which are given low ratings must make urgent or major improvements to hygiene standards. The local authority food safety officer has several enforcement options available as well as giving advice and guidance. They will have informed the businesses of how quickly these improvements need to be made.

A one star rating does not mean there is an immediate public health risk at eating at any establishment with this rating. The food safety officer will close down a business temporarily or permanently if it is felt the food is unsafe to eat.
