As there are only two more shows at the Bearcat Comedy Club at the viaduct before you –know-what – I thought I’d check out the bill last Friday.

As ever there were four acts on the bill – so there’s bound to be something to tickle your fancy.

Opening up was Mike Cox who was very upbeat and cheeky. He did a very funny sections about ordering food from take-aways using contemporary dance and how ludicrous that budget airlines ask if you’ve packed your own bag . ”Do you think I’d be flying with you, checking in at 5.30 am if I was rich enough have staff?”

Top of the bill was a return for the very, very funny Abi Roberts who thrust herself into an energetic routine about picking up unsuitable men in night clubs, her fantasies about Albanian sex traffickers and Liam Neeson and how much she hates jazz - with a hilarious rendition of Fly me To the Moon’.

Coming up in the final two weeks are King of the belly laughs Mick Ferry on Dec 4th and the following week a return of Terry Alderton and the Two Johns. That is already selling fast, book now if you want to see him. There is then a yuletide break – back on January 8th with the maniacal The Raymond and My Timkins Revue.

You can book via www.bearcatviaduct.co.uk. There is always a limited number of “meal deals” where you can eat downstairs in the pub then go upstairs for the show for £20. The food’s very good (can particularly recommend the fish platter) . The Viaduct pub is on Uxbridge Rd – not far from the hospital. You can reserve tickets on the phone too 020 8810 0815
