Christ the Saviour School PTA is busy putting the finishing touches to this year’s summer fair, which takes place on Saturday 4 July 2015 (11am to 4pm) on The Grove site (behind Ealing Broadway Centre).

For the 18th year running, the fair’s main sponsor is Winkworth Estate Agents. To mark the 150th anniversary of the publication of the Lewis Carroll classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the school will be transformed into a Wonderland scene, with decorations, stalls and games echoing the theme.

Among the attractions are: the Mad Hatter’s tea room, a teacups ride, giant inflatable slide, bake-off stall, live music, barbecue, bar, children’s haircuts, fancy dress parade, craft activities, tombola and raffle, sideshows, and games of skill and chance. Available to win will be the stunning centrepiece of the Mad Hatter’s tea table – an appropriately surreal tiered cake.

The grand raffle features an impressive array of prizes donated by local businesses and parents, including: an iPad from NewRiver Retail; an unlimited meal for two at Bill’s; vouchers from Maggie’s, the New Inn, Bravissimo, and Artisan coffee shop; Brentford FC match tickets; subscriptions at Explore Learning, Gym in the Park and Bunbanter theatre school; and many more. Live music comes courtesy of headliners Jacob and Goliath – critically acclaimed pop rock band (and ex-pupils of the school, now signed by LAB Records), with support from three bands made up of musical parents, playing pop, rock and jazz.

Children and grown-ups are encouraged to come along in costume and join the fancy dress parade. PTA co-chair Alison Stawarz said, “This event is the highlight of our year. It’s always lots of fun for adults and children alike, and we are proud to welcome the community into our school to enjoy the day with us. We couldn’t put on the event without the support of our parent volunteers, local businesses and sponsors, and we are particularly grateful to Winkworth for their generous contribution and ongoing support.”

Entry to the fair is free for children, and £2 for adults. Access is via The Grove entrance.
