We may have to wait a few more years before Ealing gets its brand new cinema - but the show will go on this summer.

A unique new scheme starting on Wednesday 31st July and running until Sunday 8th September - will see Springbridge Road Car Park transformed into a rooftop garden, and home to London's outdoor cinema the Rooftop Film Club.

Ealing Broadway BID and Land Securities, in partnership with Ealing Council, are working together to bring the movies back to Ealing, the home of film.

Matthew McMillan, Chief Executive of Ealing Broadway BID, said:

''We are delighted to be working with Land Securities and Ealing Council to bring a cinema back in the centre of Ealing. We want to put Ealing on the map as one of London’s most vital and thriving town centres, by working with award winning and innovative partners such as Rooftop Film Club.''

Nick Davis, Development Director at Land Securities, said:

“We are delighted to work with the Business Improvement District to deliver such an exciting proposal and bring film screenings back to Ealing.  This, along with our plans to provide a permanent cinema for the town centre and create a new film quarter, will help Ealing’s film heritage be celebrated in the way it deserves.

The cinema runs from Wednesday 31st July to Sunday 8th September, 5 nights a week (Wednesday to Sunday) The bar opens at 7pm each night, and the cinema starts at sunset. The event closes at 11.30pm

Rooftop Film Club seats 200 people.
