Coming up at the Questors in Ealing is a production of Nell Gwynn a play written by Jessica Swale.

It runs from 31 May to 8 June and will be performed in the Playhouse.

It’s 17th century London, and Nell Gwynn is an orange-hawker. After heckling at the theatre, she meets prestigious actor Charles Hart who takes her under his wing. Nell soon causes merry mayhem in a male-dominated world by becoming one of the first female actors, as well as Hart’s lover.

When Charles II grants permission for women to act, he sees charming Nell onstage and becomes besotted with her. Despite having a wife and a mistress, he takes her from Hart and they begin their own affair. Nell soon faces threats from the king’s chief minister to pick the theatre or the king. But how will she choose?

Filled with bawdy jokes, comical characters and songs and dances, Nell Gwynn is a true love story set against an often farcical theatrical world.

It is suitable for those aged 14 and over and you can save 50% on opening nights with all tickets just £7.

Tickets otherwise cost £14 (£12 concession, £7 under-16/student). On the final Friday and Saturday the price is £18 (£15 conc, £9.50 under-16/student).
